Wow a post from me! I have a story that I want to remember so here we go...
When I pick Emily up from school everyday I always ask her if she stayed in the green (being good on the behavior chart). Usually she is able to stay in the green but today she frowned and told me that she ended up in Yellow (she had two verbal warnings).
Yellow?!? Emily, how did this happen???? Emily didn't want to talk about it so I just let it go for the time being.
Later, during bathtime, I asked Emily what happened. She fessed up. Apparently, during her geography center, the class was split up to read about the globe. She, along with two other classmates, was to look at the globe and write down information. There was to be NO TALKING, just sharing of the globe. One of her partners pointed out France and Emily started to talk with him about that country. They both received a warning. They disregarded the warning and continued their chat. The sentence that landed Emily in Yellow was, "Ohhh, they have the BEST BREAD in France!" HAHAHAHA It took a lot for me not to laugh when she told me this. I looked at her, smiled and said, "You know Emily, they DO have the best bread in France. One of these days maybe we'll share a loaf." She gave me the biggest smile. Sometimes Yellow isn't all that bad :P
