Wow a post from me! I have a story that I want to remember so here we go...
When I pick Emily up from school everyday I always ask her if she stayed in the green (being good on the behavior chart). Usually she is able to stay in the green but today she frowned and told me that she ended up in Yellow (she had two verbal warnings).
Yellow?!? Emily, how did this happen???? Emily didn't want to talk about it so I just let it go for the time being.
Later, during bathtime, I asked Emily what happened. She fessed up. Apparently, during her geography center, the class was split up to read about the globe. She, along with two other classmates, was to look at the globe and write down information. There was to be NO TALKING, just sharing of the globe. One of her partners pointed out France and Emily started to talk with him about that country. They both received a warning. They disregarded the warning and continued their chat. The sentence that landed Emily in Yellow was, "Ohhh, they have the BEST BREAD in France!" HAHAHAHA It took a lot for me not to laugh when she told me this. I looked at her, smiled and said, "You know Emily, they DO have the best bread in France. One of these days maybe we'll share a loaf." She gave me the biggest smile. Sometimes Yellow isn't all that bad :P
Give each of my girls a long hug and kiss. One of the downfalls of being a SAHM is that fact that I'm not away from my girls for very long amounts of time. I think that has caused me to take our time together for granted. Which is sad.
My parents are picking up Emily and Audrey in the morning to have some fun and also to go to Chuck E. Cheese's. I've yet to go there. My parents have been kind enough to take the girls every now and then. When the girls come home I'm going to give them their bathes and snuggle the evening away with them.
Melting broken crayons to make rainbow crayons for the girls.
I'm a little anxious right now. I dropped Emily off at a classmate's house for a movie night party. She was really excited when I took her there but was a little weepy when I started to leave. I'm hoping she's having a great time I pick her up at 8 p.m.
After a couple of weeks of 80+ degree weather the sky is starting to darken and rain is expected tonight. I'm making homemade soup to celebrate the change in weather. This is the stock. Will strain and add all the good veggies for dinner.
I'm also looking forward to the newest season of LOST beginning tonight. Can't wait!
I am up to my eyeballs in work. I've kind of been in denial about the fact that I'm running a small business. I thought what I was doing was a hobby. A little knitting for fun. It finally occurred to me that hobbies don't keep people up till 2 a.m. in the morning every night trying to keep up with a LONG list of orders. I'm learning a lot of do's and don'ts along the way. I have a lot of personal things that I want to do but it has to be put on hold until I get more organized with my time.
I'm hoping that I'll have all my ducks in a row by February and I'll be able to manage my time better. So I guess I can officially say that I'm a Work at Home Mom. Weird. And yet, my most challenging and rewarding job to date is being mom to my 3 girls.
I've been so busy working on my business blog that I forgot to share HERE that I have a business blog. I'm still working out a few kinks, like I need a much prettier looking slideshow. Slide is great but all their ads around the slideshow is very distracting.
If you get a chance check it out and let me know what you think...
